1) Yep you are correct Sri_lion.....the Quran does not lose its translation....and and the translations have to adhere to the guidelines you gave.....Islam is very careful the meaning of the Quran does not change....

2) And no.....it is ok if you can't read it in Arabic.....the Quran is for ppl to read & understand...not to blindly recite without understanding the context & message of the Quran....Learning Arabic is not mandatory....but reading the Quran is VERY important part of being a Muslim...

Ok now that we've got that out of the way.. I'm quoting from a place where they've got all those certifications...

If you say I cannot blindly quote it that I have to understand it in full... can you make me understand on this verse in Quran for example:

These twain (the believers and the disbelievers) are two opponents who contend concerning their Lord. But as for those who disbelieve, garments of fire will be cut out for them; boiling fluid will be poured down on their heads, (19) Whereby that which is in their bellies, and their skins too, will be melted; (20) And for them are hooked rods of iron. (21)

- 22:19-21

To me its sounds like how Allah will bring hell upon kafirs, unless you convince me otherwise!

I just can't make up my mind, how can a religion be so cruel to people just because they aren't a part of that religion?

Christians have the same message.....accept Christ to be saved...or go to hell....:oo:..well the catholic denomination does at any rate....:dull:

In Islam it is more vividly explained....to encourage is Muslims to stick to the right path.....its not cruelty....

God is just....there are several hadiths (sermons)...that enforces the fact...that even certain non-Muslims may enter heaven...under certain criteria....:dull:

while a true-blue muslim who (even unwittingly(unsure of this)) has a bad habit of annoying his neighbors may go straight to hell.....:oo:

the best we Muslims can do is adhere to the laws of Islam...& live a life of humble submission....:nerd:....if we actually do it...is another matter entirely thou....

basically....its plain justice.....in the sense of....if you kill someone...spending time in prison doesn't stop the family of the victims suffering...and you will have to answer for that...unless you repent properly....according to Islamic guidelines....

hope i covered all the bases.....:oo:

Not sure about Christianity, unless you give me a verse from Bible I'm not going to talk of what I'm not sure about!

So you don't have to be a genuine Muslim to go to heaven?

I don't understand... then why can't all Muslims only complete that certain criteria?

Are you saying that these verses are there only to make sure people follow the correct path, more like a warning but never gonna happen?

Then the judgment day is a lie? therefore Allah has lied to all?

If judgment day is not a lie then it would mean pouring hot water on disbelievers while burning them in HELL is not cruelty.. so which one is it?

Not sure about Christianity, unless you give me a verse from Bible I'm not going to talk of what I'm not sure about!

not just one i will give you several verses......

"Hell is the eternal dwelling place for all who have rejected the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It is a place of everlasting torment. (Matthew 25:41; Mark 9:43-48; Hebrews 9:27; and Revelation 14:9-11; 20:12-15; 21:8)"

So you don't have to be a genuine Muslim to go to heaven?

Nope....according to the hadith....it is ultimately up to God as to who enters Heaven or Hell....all we know is....Muslims who follow the scriptures correctly have the highest chance of going to heaven.....

I don't understand... then why can't all Muslims only complete that certain criteria?

I think you misunderstood.....the criteria COULD BE that non-muslims who do good...& are pious (to one God) & who help others without expecting anything back....

it could be this or any combo of this.....we do not know....who is eligible...or doing what makes non-muslims eligible...to go to Heaven...

Are you saying that these verses are there only to make sure people follow the correct path, more like a warning but never gonna happen?

Then the judgment day is a lie? therefore Allah has lied to all?

NO....its more of a warning....FOR the judgment day.....

kind of like a parent or teacher who reminds a child about an upcoming exam..and who warns of the consequences of failing such an exam....

does that mean the teacher or parent hates that child or is being unnecessarily cruel?....

Ok thanks for that, I'll check but this verse has no relevance to Islam so we continue about Islam!

I know that Islam claims all religions ultimately depict Islam one way or the other.. so I see no point taking this differently!

Nope....according to the hadith....it is ultimately up to God as to who enters Heaven or Hell....all we know is....Muslims who follow the scriptures correctly have the highest chance of going to heaven.....

BUT what I said is technically correct then, highest chance means there's still a possibility for a non-genuine Muslim to enter heaven!

I think you misunderstood.....the criteria COULD BE that non-muslims who do good...& are pious (to one God) & who help others without expecting anything back....

it could be this or any combo of this.....we do not know....who is eligible...or doing what makes non-muslims eligible...to go to Heaven...

So what about good non-muslims who doesn't believe in GOD?

Are you telling me that people cannot be good, cannot do good deeds unless they believe in god?

NO....its more of a warning....FOR the judgment day.....

OK! So Allah has lied to its followers then... but you already know that its just a warning.. and billions of others know its just a warning but nothing... then why give a warning?

If you know your teacher will never punish you for not doing your homework, it is highly unlikely that students will always ignore homework... GOD didn't know this?

kind of like a parent or teacher who reminds a child about an upcoming exam..and who warn of the consequences of failing such an exam....

does that mean the teacher or parent hates that child or is being unnecessarily cruel?....

Erm.... (referring to part in red) did you mean to say that there's also something called necessarily cruel?

I'm afraid there's no such thing... its either cruel or NOT! :)

I know that Islam claims all religions ultimately depict Islam one way or the other.. so I see no point taking this differently!

I gave those verses as proof that its not only Islam that promises a damnation in hell.....even Buddhism says those who do not follow the guidelines (of Buddhism not Islam) will get bad karma & be born as a dog etc....similar to saying if you steal you will go to jail...a deterrent from doing wrong....

BUT what I said is technically correct then, highest chance means there's still a possibility for a non-genuine Muslim to enter heaven!

Yes....its all ultimately up to how the person behaved on earth....what they did with their God-given resources (health/life, wealth, Wisdom etc..)...and God judges them according to their individual acts.....and in that sense...even non-Muslims may enter Heaven.....& Muslims sent to hell as punishment for their wrong doings.....

So what about good non-muslims who doesn't believe in GOD?

yes even if they didn't believe in God....didn't you notice the Big caps "COULD BE".....we do not know.....its up to the person what he or she has done.....

Are you telling me that people cannot be good, cannot do good deeds unless they believe in god?

Nope...even an atheist who works for the common good may enter heaven....its just that we are not sure.....its all up how you act...and how God deals with ur acts....:dull:

OK! So Allah has lied to its followers then... but you already know that its just a warning.. and billions of others know its just a warning but nothing... then why give a warning?

If you know your teacher will never punish you for not doing your homework, it is highly unlikely that students will always ignore homework... GOD didn't know this?

No....God never lied.....judgment day will come....and if you flunk that exam...you WILL face the consequences for your actions...Muslim or not....

Erm.... (referring to part in red) did you mean to say that there's also something called necessarily cruel?

I'm afraid there's no such thing... its either cruel or NOT! :)

All i am saying is that....giving a warning...is not cruel....punishing ppl who do wrong is not cruel....Islam is not about being cruel...it is about justice....

In Islam...if you are sick &/or suffer on Earth your burdens in the Judgment Day is reduced....so if you were a non-Muslim parents who worked hard for money to look after your disabled Child....you are looked at with kindness by God....

Your punishment is proportionate to your crimes on Earth.....yes i know the Quran says ALL non-believers will be burned....but you have to read it in context to really see....trust me....Islam is not about being cruel....

I have a little question machan. what is meant by wrong. is not following Islam is wrong?
yes in Buddhism there is there it is the saying if you did wrong you will get it. but not following Buddhism is not a wrong thing according to Buddhism. Lord Buddha did not say that all non-followers should be burnt or punished or ny thing. He asked only if you see fit then follow it. that is a major difference.

I'll be honest with you, I don't know how Karma works, as in no one really knows that I will be born as a dog if I behave bad, you don't know it , I don't know it, neither the monks nor the priest in the mosque!

So lets leave it at that! But simple form of Karma is evident, you don't study and you sit for an exam you not going to pass.. simple as that the deep form of Karma could be a projection of this simple theory that we can perceive!

So lets leave it at that shall we!

Ok so you agree with me here that non-Muslims can go to heaven, that's what you are saying too right?

In other words you don't have to be a Muslim to enter heaven, so if the bare minimum criteria is met we all can go to heaven but if the heaven is the ultimate goal then why put more and more things on the plate and confuse people?

Example: If it was an exam, I being a non-Muslim get 60% and enter heaven, you being a Muslim get 90% and enter heaven.. now WHAT? what do you get that I don't in heaven?

yes even if they didn't believe in God....didn't you notice the Big caps "COULD BE".....we do not know.....its up to the person what he or she has done.....

Yes! I noticed it.. you said "any combo of this"... which also means that you don't have to believe in god, to enter heaven... then why all this fuzz? so if that's true I can still be Buddhist/Hindu/Christian and enter Muslim heaven right?

If that's true, what does it means by Kafir? disbeliever? because "any combo" also means Good non-Muslim + doesn't believe in GOD this equals to a good disbeliever, care to explain that complexity?

Nope...even an atheist who works for the common good may enter heaven....its just that we are not sure.....its all up how you act...and how God deals with ur acts....:dull:

My question/comment is as same as above!

No....God never lied.....judgment day will come....and if you flunk that exam...you WILL face the consequences for your actions...Muslim or not....

But you just said its just a WARNING but nothing else :baffled:

All i am saying is that....giving a warning...is not cruel....punishing ppl who do wrong is not cruel....Islam is not about being cruel...it is about justice....

In Islam...if you are sick &/or suffer on Earth your burdens in the Judgment Day is reduced....so if you were a non-Muslim parents who worked hard for money to look after your disabled Child....you are looked at with kindness by God....

    Your previous statements contradicts here..

First lets get this straight... is he (Allah) gonna punish people on judgment day or not?

As I see it you have 3 choices

    1. Allah gave WARNINGS but its never going to come true - just to scare people (which you've stated in your earlier reply)

    2. Allah gave WARNING and it also going to come true (what you are saying now)

    3. We can disregard those sections in Quran!

punishing ppl who do wrong is not cruel....Islam is not about being cruel...it is about justice....

Like to comment on this... people may do wrong because they aren't perfect, why aren't they perfect? if creation is not perfect the blame goes to the creator (and this is no ordinary creator, this is someone who had total control over everything)... and you may say it all depends on individual and how they face life's obstacles presented by GOD.. but hey that's irrelevant... because we are talking about an Almighty GOD that can do anything and everything including those obstacles that made us who we are today good and bad... so how come he couldn't make everyone a good human being?

Are you saying he ran out tricks that he could not devised a way around it? sure if everybody is perfect then there will other problems... but again that brings us back to the same question he is ulmighty.. he couldn't think of a way to fix it? and again and again and again...

The problem here however lies in the fact that Why Allah created us? So to answer all this... either you have to find an answer to this question which would be ideal, or you have to decipher your way back from the current real world situations which I can guarantee you... that you'll ultimately hit the rock bottom and be faced with "Why Allah created us" anyway!

... and thanks for taking time to reply! ;)

    True!

We need to know the exact definition of "disbeliever" according to Quran!

its the second option...."Allah gave WARNING and it also going to come true "...its not what i am saying now...its what i said from the beginning.....

well.....Allah created Adam and Eve and left them in heaven....they found their self awareness....and the ability to do wrong...and God cast man to Earth upon Adam's & Eve's pleading.....and on Earth man lives....praying to God...worshiping Him...and doing as He commands to....

to prove our love and devotion to God....and yes God tests Man...but putting us in Situations HE has devised.....how we behave under those set conditions...may make God like or hate us....

why did God put us on Earth is an easy 1st level question to answer for us Muslims....to earn good deeds so we can get our way back to heaven....:oo:

simple no....?.....but yes...This is all God's divine plan...and it always will be.....Why is He going through His plan...that my friend only God knows....:baffled:

ok.....so you got the point...that it is not only Islam that says "follow the guidelines or you will be punished"......

The difference here though there's no one controlling your faith other than you!

You make your own Karma... and it's the cause of your creation and your destruction..... NOT an Omnipotent god!

    Well we do not know....but i don't think non-Muslims will get a 60% chance...its much lower...VERY much lower....more of a very slim chance....

Ok so you don't know.. well... I can't ask further questions on stuff that you have no idea!

God loves His creations....and will be kind....but He also hates those who wrong him....:baffled:

Again.. related to the last question I asked earlier... he could have devised a way to make it right... why didn't he? anyway lets discuss this below.. again!

its more like...to say its possible you could enter Heaven....its all up to ur actions...AND God's Will....

    and Kafir is Arabic for "non-believer"...its not a label...just a noun....like "tree"...."ball"....etc etc....:oo:

So conclusion... A good Buddhist/Hindu/Christian man can enter heaven even if he doesn't believe in god... which brings us back to the question of HOW?... which you already said you do not know!

Also we can conclude that non-believer that's used in Quran has no meaning then? then there are bigger problems about the integrity of Quran's verses!

Then from Quran's point of view how exactly is "disbeliever" defined?

when did i say it was just a warning....:baffled:.....you warn ppl of danger...not warn them about nothing....that is called threaten....not warn....:nerd:

    In reply #266, you said

NO....its more of a warning....FOR the judgment day.....

its the second option...."Allah gave WARNING and it also going to come true "...its not what i am saying now...its what i said from the beginning.....

lets recap.....God is warning non-believers and bad Muslims.....of the Day of Judgment saying..."follow the guidelines or you will be in trouble"....and there WILL be trouble....:dull::baffled:

Refer to reply #263 and the verse I've posted there from Quran... then it is true that this will happen (see below) to disbelievers (there you go.. the word disbelievers comes up again.. you got to define that first)

    - 22:19-21

Ok so this is how Allah going to treat disbelievers on judgment day.. which is the very first question I asked you!

Now we are back to square 1..

Why this cruelty? you've got to accept that for whatever reason this is pure cruelty.. they maybe bad people but skinning them alive? c'mon!:oo:

Allah is fully responsible for these people being disbelievers.. then again I ask you why he could not devise a way from the beginning to make them believers? Allah is the almighty... what was so difficult?

well.....Allah created Adam and Eve and left them in heaven....they found their self awareness....and the ability to do wrong...and God cast man to Earth upon Adam's & Eve's pleading.....and on Earth man lives....praying to God...worshiping Him...and doing as He commands to....

to prove our love and devotion to God....and yes God tests Man...but putting us in Situations HE has devised.....how we behave under those set conditions...may make God like or hate us....

why did God put us on Earth is an easy 1st level question to answer for us Muslims....to earn good deeds so we can get our way back to heaven....:oo:

simple no....?.....but yes...This is all God's divine plan...and it always will be.....Why is He going through His plan...that my friend only God knows....:baffled:

Woah! let me stop you right there...

Because all you explain here is after allah created humans... that wasn't what I was asking... I'm asking WHY HE DID CREATE HUMAN IN THE FIRST PLACE?

Allah sure was a powerful god whom could create Universe and everything in it... but WHY?

What's the purpose of creating a universe, planets and beings? He should be getting something out of this? or was he just creating for his joy?

i yes i am more than happy to answer questions....i can only hope you understand the idea i am trying to put forward....i am never very good with explaining things....

I don't expect you to know Islam inside out, it's impossible for an average person to know everything that there is... same goes to me.. but we still can find points to discuss about!

Yes.....that is why i gave that example....the warning of Hell...is just like how modern societies speak about prisons....they say...here are the ruels...pls follow them...or else we will put you in jail....

similar thing....i don't know about Buddhism....but all religions have a "bad place"...where bad ppl/ppl who do not follow the given guidelines....will be put.....

So conclusion... A good Buddhist/Hindu/Christian man can enter heaven even if he doesn't believe in god... which brings us back to the question of HOW?... which you already said you do not know!

Well its easy to answer HOW they will enter heaven....it is by their own actions....what i said is we do not know IF & WHAT actions God will like enough in a certain person to send them to Heaven....

A dis-believer is someone who does not believe in one God....:oo:

pertains that ppl who do not believe in any God are ok...its just ppl who worship multiple Gods....who are really in trouble...(but once again....it is not up to us humans to say who will or will not enter heaven...):baffled:

    a proper definition is here....http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Infidel#Islamic

Ok so this is how Allah going to treat disbelievers on judgment day.. which is the very first question I asked you!

Allah is the almighty... what was so difficult?

yes....God is Kind...but he is also just.....ppl who shun away God will be punished...as they take everything God has granted them...then to turn around and mock God....:baffled:.....can't blame Him can we....:lol:

punishing ppl who do wrong...is not cruel....on Earth we have feelings of "humanity" etc...and pll who murder someone is sent to jail...spend a nice time there and get out...and possibly repeat the crime without any remorse....:oo:

the victims suffer...and the offender goes scot free...is a Earth based logic.....if you do the crime you do the serious time...is God's logic....God creates Earth....give you life....looks after all ur needs on earth....loves you unconditionally & opens His mercy to you & tries to guide you to the right path through prophets and through His grace while on Earth.....yet if you waste all this & do as you please....for your whole lifetime...well.....you deserve all you get....:baffled:

and in the Quran God has said...if everyone on earth was perfect...He would destroy it...and bring all his creations(humans) to Heaven....:oo:

the Earth is a testing ground...to see which of us overcome the our own situations & embrace a way back to heaven....we are all born Muslims....and children are excused...but once we hit adult-hood...everyone has some inking of Islam...and if they mock it....:baffled:.....sorry.com....

Woah! let me stop you right there...

God created the Angels to serve Him....and Humans to praise Him....but then that whole adam & eve thing happened and the rest is relatively history....did God know this would happen undoubtedly...so why this plan....:oo:...we cannot fathom really.....:baffled:

I don't expect you to know Islam inside out, it's impossible for an average person to know everything that there is... same goes to me.. but we still can find points to discuss about!

sure dude...i will try my best...also give this a read.....

Buddhism doesn't say "do this, else.. I you are a dead man"

The only thing Buddhism says... your actions defines your future... that's all... there's big difference1!

Well its easy to answer HOW they will enter heaven....it is by their own actions....what i said is we do not know IF & WHAT actions God will like enough in a certain person to send them to Heaven....

A dis-believer is someone who does not believe in one God....:oo:

So what even a person believes in multiple gods? that person still can be a good person... according to your "combo theory" that should not be a problem to get into heaven at all...

Remember If Allah had made us so that we only accept him as the one and only god... this would not have happened... I know what you want say now  you'd probably itching to say.. Allah made us different because he wanted to test us

Well... I told you previously... it all boils down into one single question... WHAT IS HE (GOD) GETTING OUT OF ALL THIS?? ;)

yes....God is Kind...but he is also just.....ppl who shun away God will be punished...as they take everything God has granted them...then to turn around and mock God....:baffled:.....can't blame Him can we....:lol:

punishing ppl who do wrong...is not cruel....on Earth we have feelings of "humanity" etc...and pll who murder someone is sent to jail...spend a nice time there and get out...and possibly repeat the crime without any remorse....:oo:

All this Earth Logic that you talk about that effect everything else in this world... who created that? Ring any bells?

If anyone who can make it right who do you think it could be? Ring any bells?

Then why he didn't? same question... this where Islam can make us run around circles!

God created the Angels to serve Him....and Humans to praise Him....but then that whole adam & eve thing happened and the rest is relatively history....did God know this would happen undoubtedly...so why this plan....:oo:...we cannot fathom really.....:baffled:

Exactly! God did not say why he created us.. why he want's us pray him? Big mystery... don't you think so? have you ever wondered?

All we know is we are here... does our existence help him with anything? it certainly feels that way to me if god really created us... I'm sure there must be a reason why...

So what I'm asking here is.. if we are of any help to GOD, there's something that GOD cannot do without us... oh well.... then how come he can be the ALMIGHTY everyone talks about?

With that... we can see the definition of GOD in Islam is getting totally flawed!

If GOD is almighty he can do anything and everything... doesn't need the help of mere humans!

sure dude...i will try my best...also give this a read.....

    I'm fed up about Dr.Motta Naik's FAQ's seriously... he is a real n00b!

Before you joined this community all of his theories were debunked, recently I saw in one of his FAQs he was saying that, Lord Buddha kept silent when he was asked about GOD..

That's real BULLSHIT I tell you...

When Lord Buddha's time it is agains't HINDU's GODs that he voiced out! He was never silent about GOD, he also mentioned that there maybe gods but that definition of god is nowhere near Islam's god, that god he talked about is even lower being than humans themselves!

Lord Buddha however was silent when he was asked by about the universe!

So this Dr. stepped on his own tail and dare to publish these kindof n00bish stories in his FAQs... there were more... but why waste my time?
