does Sanga deserves the blame? 
Is dat som sort of a politics + cheated gambling dat we watched on April 2nd..? in dat case wht if New Zeland won the semifinals..?
this is a mail i got from my friend... Im not sure how much truth is in it.. but i doubt...
Every Sri Lankan was horrified to see Sri-lankan team losing out timidly, after putting up a very good score. Consider the below mentioned & decide your selves what could have happened!!
In the pre match Interview Sangakkara said “ Every one wantsIndia to win….who are the every one? Yes certainly all Indians wanted India to win. Certainly not any true Sri Lankans, or for that matter even Pakistanis & Bangladeshis too wanted Srilanka to win! Then who are the others.. the VVIP Srilankan & his notorious officials in the Cricket Board? Very Much. He also said we will play with controlled aggression!! Usually he says we will play to our potential according to our strategy. Why controlled…Is it because of orders from the top? Also he was tensed during that interview & body language showed it all.
Who in their right mind will play 4 new players, that too with one ( Randiv) who was totally uninvolved in the whole tournament? Why Herath & Mendis who performed reasonably well were dropped for the all important final? Though Chamara Silva was disappointing, he wouldn’t have been a total flop like Kapugedara. Similarly Vass at least would have bowled better than Kulasekara with his county experience. Randiv had been called to do the (dis) honours, once again after his no ball fiasco!
What interest Vijay Mallaya had in Sri Lanka NewZeland semis, especially the next day when they were having the all important match against Pakistan ? Why he was provided VIP security & under whose instructions? He was seen congratulating Mahinda, who gestured to him to leave quickly. Obviously he had come to finalise the deal, at the request of the powerful sports body of India .
Why Sanga never spoke to his bowlers when they were spraying the ball all over? Usually he runs to the other end to give advise. Even Many Indians said that they expected good captaincy from Sanga during the final, that was never there!
Murali was supposed to have a hamstring injury. but he was seen fielding vigoursly near the boundary line. But bowling was atrocious. It was obvious that he was bowling so as not to capture any wickets.
Most of the players allowed the ball to touch the boundary rope by diving over the ball so that it can pass thru. It was obvious & pathetic.
Why did Malinga announce a sudden retirement? Obviously playing a fixed finals under duress & the watchful eyes of a dictator must have killed his playing spirits!
The match result was known much earlier to well connected Indians. One of them asked me whether I seriously believe that Sri Lanka is going to win & showed the SMS he received, one hour prior to the start of the finals. It said “ Sri- Lanka will score around 270- 280. India will chase & win. Sachin will get out in 90’s! Sachin got out for much lesser runs, but Gambir was allowed to do the job. A simple catch was missed to ensure that. That explains why Sanga didn’t show much joy when Sachin got out. (In His natural instinct he, caught the ball). That also explains the TOSS fiasco. It is rumored that initially Sanga won the toss, & pretended that he didn’t call it properly!!
The same Indian friend had shown me the SMS he received on India Pakistan match too, that was received just before the start of the match. It said that India will score 260 ( Exact figure). Pakistan will cruise easily upto 150, but will lose finally by 20 runs. In the end they lost by 29 runs. The delay in taking the power play overs by Afridi & Mis ba-ul Haq, says it all. Ironically Pakistan P.M, Gilani also came to watch the match in India ( Or receive the favours) like Mahinda.
So Mahinda’s trip to Thirupathi is to thank Gods for the unexpected wind fall. Not to take a WOW!!
Sri- Lanka had only one pride. Becoming world champions in Cricket from minnows status.They put the nation in the world map. Under Mahinda Rajapakse even that is lost because of his hunger for money. Cricket has to be rescued from Mammon’s like BCCI, Sharad Pawar, Vijay Mallaya, PCB & the politicians of the sub- continent. Otherwise we are actually watching a match played by 22 fools, while the corrupt politicos, businessmen & Bookies are getting the best out of it.
