The irony is that western historians consider the mongols as brutal inhuman rulers but praise the Romans. At least Genghis Khan let the people of the conquered land live freely and gave the freedom to practice their religion and traditions. He only slaughtered those who opposed his rule.

The important factor is this: one's history maybe ugly, but what have they become today? What have they left to the world? THERE is the difference between Romans and Muslims. While the descendants of the Romans are honestly sorry about that gory history, and they have become a peaceful civilization that gifted the world so many inventions, the descendants of Muslims still have the same mindset. They still believe in chopping off limbs in 2026! There's the difference.
