Thank you, vitthiyakanthan, for the wonderful link. It is nice to see that Sinhalese are learning Tamil. I like that. Ela_eluwa, I will post the lyrics for Tamil version of Sri Lanka Matha here shortly.

I hope that someday an audio or audio visual with the Tamil version of the Sri Lankan national anthem will be available on the Internet, esp on YouTube. Maybe someone here on ElaKiri who has an audio visual of the Tamil version can post it on YouTube. That would be nice.

You're welcome, elu_eluva. I am glad to be of help to you. Do you know the Sri Lankan national anthem in Tamil? I have it in both its Sinhala and Tamil versions. While the original lyrics are in Sinhala, I enjoy singing the Sri Lankan national anthem in both Sinhala and Tamil.

Nathan (naadhan) means Lord. Friend in Tamil is thozhan or naNban. For a friend that is a woman or a girl, however, we say thozhi.

The first spelling is the one used by Tamils from India, the second one is used by Tamils from Sri Lanka and Malaysia.
