    Probably because Its indirect and no one know they are paying heavy tax lol , Sri Lanka has the most complex tax structure according to wikipedia (not a good thing).

    This is a popular misconception , try to google "marginal tax rate" also there are plenty of ways to save tax, RRSP and TFSA. In sri lanka we pay indirect tax, which can be higher than 60-70% if you think about it.

    Do you have any idea about the productivity of these varieties, I do, they are very inefficient (basically you need more land to get 1kg of harvest compared to improved varieties, they are also susceptible to plant diseases and pests. making them more expensive to make and use lot of resources)...
