The Adani Group which was in discussions to set up a wind power plant in Mannar, is likely to pull out of Sri Lanka due to the delays in approvals and decisions by the governments, the Daily Mirror learns.
The Adani Group, has informed Sri Lanka's Board of Investment (BoI) that while several rounds of discussions have been held between the Sri Lankan and Indian teams, the company had decided to respectfully bow out of Sri Lanka.
However the Sri Lankan government is yet to respond.
In his recent visit to New Delhi, President Anura Kumara Dissanayake and his delegation had discussed the Adani project with the Indian officials but the President remained firm that the tariff quoted by Adani was too high.
The Indian side had responded saying they were ready for discussions over the matter again.
The NPP government had then said that they were awaiting the courts decision on the Adani matter which was scheduled to be taken up in May and only then make a further decision.
