do you think that method would be effective in an open place like this? if its in a jungle or some other place with obstacles, that method would be effective.

then you think run in straightly effective.??

in a ground or a place like that, when you run in curvatures instead of straight lines, the elephant will be following the shortest distance instead of following the same path that you took. and then you might have to run longer than the elephant to get away from it. correct me if im wrong. just an idea. im not an expert in wildlife related things.

yea I understand what're you saying,you said elephant takes the displacement instead path that man took.well probably that's correct if man takes short curves but when he straightly turns 90 Curve ,elephants can't get that curve infact if the elephant is trying to do that ,it will cause to decrease his(elephant's)speed cause ,elephants have large muscles and so it can Not turn quickly like small animals. but still humans can run fastly within 120 angle without decreasing the speed.(only forward).
and remember elephants can't run even you see it's running,they walk fast.!!

You are correct.
1. Elephant can run (walk) faster than an average man. No point tying to outrun it in a straight line.

2. It is difficult for the elephant to make a turn. So force it to turn around.

3. Elephants can climb to a higher ground very quickly but it is very uncomfortable when it tries to take a slope. So if you see a slope ahead that is the best path to take.

4. You won't remember any of these when the s#it actually happens.
