Interesting article about some medium SUV`s (soft-roaders) put to test under off-road driving conditions:

    https://www.caradvice.com.au/774881/medium-suv-off-road-test-toyota-rav4-holden-equinox-mazda-cx-5-renault-koleos-subaru-forester-hyundai-tucson-kia-sportage-volkswagen-tiguan-honda-cr-v-and-nissan-x-trail/

Good technical information about: centre differentials and torque split, chassis rigidity, how traction control is tuned to handle tricky terrain, etc....

What was tested (all 2019 models):
    • Toyota Rav4 Cruiser Hybrid
    • Holden Equinox
    • Mazda CX-5
    • Renault Koleos
    • Subaru Forester
    • Hyundai Tucson
    • Kia Sportage
    • Volkswagen Tiguan
    • Honda CR-V
    • Nissan X-Trail

    Conclusion from the article:

What an incredibly mixed bag of results. Real surprises in this segment were the Honda CR-V, Mazda CX-5 and Kia Sportage.

Disappointing results came from Hyundai with the Tucson, the Volkswagen Tiguan didn't blow us away, likewise the Nissan X-Trail and Toyota RAV4.

There is a very clear winner here, though, and it's the Subaru Forester. What an impressive machine. It does a great job both on- and off-road, and proves that it's still the best option for people wanting an SUV capable of light off-roading.

It's worth pointing out that despite the advertising you see on television and all the off-road switches you find in medium-sized SUVs, a well-engineered all-wheel-drive system always comes out on top.

    Gran Coupe එකේ Side Profile එක නම් පට්ට .. :love::love:

    මගේ හොඳ යාලුවෙක් ගේ 440i එකක් drive කරා කීප සැරයක්.. 440i කියන්නේ 1 step below the M3 (320HP , 330NM Torque) .

    පොඩි review එකක් දාන්න ද ? :):):)

Drive and power – quite comfortable to drive, though suspension is a bit on the stiffer side. Big wheels and low profile tires are not a great recipe for comfort anyway. Steering is very quick and direct. Power delivery and torque - just fantastic! It`s a constant surge of torque all the way to redline. This is still turbo-charged, so there is a little bit of turbo lag when ලෑල්ලට පෑගුවම :D, no instant throttle response like an old naturally aspirated BMW 6 cylinder. There`s power and torque in every gear.!
Gear changes smooth and fast, even faster on ‘manual’ ‘sport’ mode. Though it doesn’t have the ‘thump’ or the directness of a DSG dual clutch gearbox. Brakes are massive so freaking powerful for a road car. Going from 80 to 0 feels like going from 40 to 0 in a regular car!

Got enough grip and electronic aids to not to kick the tail when accelerating hard out of a corner (in dry weather, dont know how it is like in the wet). I was not man enough to even attempt to drift with traction control off, just too much power (going only to the back wheels) to play with on a public road.!

Interior and electronics - got the normal safety stuff like adaptive cruise and lane keep assist. But no latest tech like digital instrument cluster. Still a quite conservative basic interior design like pretty much all BMW`s. Nothing crazy or in-your-face kind of styling like some of the Mercedes performance models. Fit and finish and quality is top notch. Not really grate space wise, the back is especially cramped with the floor hum and sweeping roofline. But the boot (being a lift back) is quite large and practical.
