I had 4 interviews from a company in EU with senior engineers and a C level executive (final interview) recently.
They didn't ask any of those questions. Just asked why I like this specific field and checked my knowledge in the field.
Asked what is my ideal day in the office and what do I dislike. Mostly to check the cultural fit. That's pretty much it.

load all 8 balls on each side of the balance scale by 4 by 4 on each side. so one side holding more weight than the other end of the scale. and then unload one ball by one ball on each side. so eventually you can find which one has more weight among the other balls. but have to make sure you won't stumble them with your balls.

Take 6 balls and put 3 on each side on the scale. If the scale is in balance take the 2 balls left behind and put on the scale and find the heavier one. If one side was heavier in the first time. Take 2 balls from the heavier side and then put on the scale. If the scale is in balance the ball left will be the heavier one or if one side is heavier that will be the heavier ball.

You can solve this even with 9 balls using the above method

this is similar to use the balance for several times.

This can be done using binary search,take 4 balls for each side and get the most weighted 4 balls. and divide it to two and use the scale again to chk which side is weighted more. then you are ended with two balls and you can tell which one is heavier just by lifting them from your hands.
