Machanla,

one of my uncle and his family is going to india for a short stay. i asked them to bring me some salwarees and sarees, worth for 60 thousand rupees. like 20 sarees, and 20 salwars. i already found a place in chennai to get and i showed the catalog to them so the uncle will purchase for me and as he has small kids. i think we can get those sarees and slawars fit in to 2 baggaes. now my question is, will customs stop this and add tax, duty ? if so how much for sarees and how muc for salwarees? bcz my purpose is to sell these and make some money.

or if i ask the uncle to send it through a cargo to SL, how much time will it take? and how much duty and tax will be raised? i know its hard to tell exact, just give me some rough percnetage figures.

yeah i too hope so, in case if they see and raise tax. i want to be ready for the worse case. thats why trying to know the charges and other methods

Is there any other way that i can bring without sending in baggage and hand luggage?

or i should tell this is for business, to sell and i am starting the business now so they will charge the duty and tax.

Last time we ordered 100 block printed beach wraps from india .we payed through paypal and they sent by FED-Ex .we paid only Rs 9000 as TAX.
Tell your uncle to fed-ex that parcel.

Machan, methana online calculator ekak thiyenwa unge. http://www.fedex.com/in/

Kg 60, genda unge 10kg box hayaka, they are charging 34,064.40 INR. so it comes around 70 000 LKR .

isnt this very very expensive ?

it is coming to your doorstep.and they will give you the bill with all including, handling , taxes , etc.actually i dont remember the actual weight of our parcel . but we paid only Rs 19500/- for shipping.it came from Jaipur , rajasthan
