There are very interesting ideas about sacred geography contained in the Jain religious and philosophical teachings.
According to the ideas in the Book of Dyzan, in the center of the world was found the continent of Jambudvipa (Hyperborea), which was located within the boundaries of the other continents and oceans. In the center of Jambudvipa stood a world mountain called Meru or Mandara.

The Fozu Tongji(A Chronicle of the Patriarch of Buddhism) is an important Buddhist history book compiled By Zhipan(1220-1275),a Buddhist in the Song Dynasty.Chapters 31 and 32 of the Fozu tongji, entitled “Shijie mingti zhi” 世界名體志 (An Account of Places and Shape of the World),includes eleven maps as a supplement to the text. Chapter 31 discusses the total image and structure of the Buddhist universe, starting with a description of the greater universe and ultimately focusing on the imaginary Mount Meru (chin. Xumi shan 須彌山), the place where Jambudvīpa (chin. Zhanbu zhou 瞻部洲), the world of human beings, lies.The set includes five pictorial maps that illustrate narrative descriptions of Buddhist cosmology, among which “Sanqian daqian shijie tu” 三千大千世界圖 (Map of the Entire Universe) depicts Mount Meru and Jambudvīpa to the south.

I am not telling anything, this is how its on ancient text books. yes according to modern technology this is a lie if you take it "literally" but as for the most things in buddhism, important things are in cryptic messages, so best idea is not to take everything literally (I think these are state of mind more than actual places).

රාවෝ - සූර්යාවන්ගෙන් පැවත එන ( රාවණ )

පිලිවෙලින් ගත් කල "රාවණ පරපුරෙන් පැවත එන".
මෙය තව දුරටත් සොයා බැලීමට ඔබට බාරයි

"රා" යනු හිරුට නමකි. "වන" යනු පරපුර හැඳින්වෙන්නකි. මේ අනුව හිරු ගේ පරපුර ඇත්තා යන අරුත ඇති "රාවන" යන නම යෙදේ.
