This lovely residence was built originally in the 19th century by Mr. Juvanis Appuhami (Great grandfather of the current owner of this place), with its truly Sri Lankan style architecture located on top of hill it surely was to be the perfect family house "Mahagedara". At the same time this was a resting place of both the local and foreign travelers passing by because of its peaceful, natural beauty and the hospitality of warm, friendly hearted family members.
