you completely missed my main point either mistakenly or purposefully. my main point is why do we need to do this within one year. we should move along with the standards but we were doing fine with the old standards. it would be fine to justify a sudden move if we had a huge problem.

So if we do not have a huge problem, why do we need a sudden movement to finish everything within one year. I do not know why you do not see the real picture behind. the ideal way would be to issue the circular and from now on any new pedestrian crossing or any repaired pedestrian crossing will be made of white. the whole project will be done within few years without additional cost. as I said, Singapore still have older version of their traffic signs. they are being replaced when the older one is due for repair or replacement. until that they are there to serve the purpose.
