Seriously, cable cars are becoming an increasingly popular transport model being proposed by city planners as public transport that is sustainable, fast, reliable and efficient.
In LaPaz (Bolivia), the Mi Teleferico cable car system transports all public from offices to home. Over 200,000 use it daily.
So this is not a bad idea, if properly implemented. But if they decide, okay let's make a 10% commission by reducing the cable diameter by 10% then of course you will know what will happen.

But I do not think The Chinese have any reputable Cable car manufacturers. They are only known for their cable car disasters.

Doppelmayr is the world leader in cable car systems. Visit anywhere in the world from Switzerland, Canada to NZ almost all are Doppelmayr.

Most of other cable car systems are scenic.

One of the best is in the Sunworld - Ba Na Hills, Danang, Vietnam. It's about 6 km non-stop run, takes about 20 mins or so. It has two segments totalling probably about 20 kms or so if you start from Danang.
You can travel straight to the top or take a break somewhere in the middle and quite fast. It won several world records. Beautiful scenery over a valley and somewhere there's a beautifully landscaped park with nice flowers etc. There's a small model French township at this place. They give you a free beer too (naturally included in the ticket) If you visit Vietnam don't miss this.

The next best one is the Sugarloaf mountain in Brazil. Very beautiful run over the sea, nice views of Rio-De-Janeiro with a half-way stop. Easily a half a day trip.

Then of course the Mt Whistler (Canada), Tillis Mountain (Switzerland) are superb cable car runs. Also Jungfrau has a cable car too, but many choose the small train to the Europe's highest point.

Also there's another in Langkawi. The Langkawi Skybridge, a bit over the 2 km mark. Anyone can afford to go there. It's a tiny island belonging to Malaysia and totally duty free. Those travelling to Malaysia try to plan a visit. There's a ferry from Penang or cheap flights from either KL or SIN.
When you visit another country, do not limit yourself to shopping. Try to see around as well.

On another note, what's your ideas/views about having one to SriPada?

According to Wikipedia, USA has used this tech in Roosevelt Island Tramway in New York City and the Portland Aerial Tram for public transport successfully.

A Chinese company has expressed its willingness to implement an eco friendly electric tram car project as a solution for the huge traffic congestion prevailing within the Colombo city and suburbs, Passenger Transport Management Minister Mahinda Amaraweera.

According to the representatives of the Chinese company named China Railway Group Limited, as the first phase of the project they are planning to construct a track above 14 feet along highlevel road from Kottawa - Pettah to provide transport facilities using an electric tram cars system carrying up to 8-11 passengers each.

The entire car system is scheduled to be completed within one and half years.
