The reason behind " Corona Community Spread statement "
The whole reason why Pavithra said this ( This is strictly my opinion ) that her statement is based on WHO definition on Corona Community Spread.
For example Country A might have 1 new case a day without any increase over time, but not be able to identify the origins of these cases because its contact tracing is inefficient or not happening. Country B on the other hand might be having 10 new cases a day, with this gradually increasing over time to 100 new cases/day, but be able to trace the origins of each case through contact tracing. According to the WHO, Country A would have community transmission, but not country B. ( Yes this is a stupid definition from WHO and it is already outdated )
Now lets check Sri Lanka situation, Both Brandix and Fish Market Clusters can be traced to an origin according to SL experts but this statement is 50% true and 50% lie.. because the tracing is ongoing but in a very inefficient way. This is the reason for random lock downs and isolation through out the country. Reason behind contact tracing inefficiency is because of inefficient PCR testing.
