I'm talking about the check-in. When you checked in, it will required passport and the ticket belonging to the same person.Reason for requesting passport is to identify the ticket. If this basic check is not happening what is the purpose. Then at the immigration, they only can check and chop the passport instead knowing who is travelling with which passport?

If boarding pass is not required for Immi, what exactly they check? Only valid to travel to said country? Not verifying the person details correct as per boarding pass and the passport???

you can purchase a ticket at 3 months back without any personal details into it, and you can do check-in using online or counter, at that time passport details and name is mandatory (not applicable to all airlines)
