The sad fact is that the Chinese agreed to pay $ 2.7 billion fishing deal with Madagascar. The Chinese will F!@k anything in no time. I have been to Madagascar and it's a poor country. Everyone was happy with the deal.... Later the details came in. Madagascar is run by similar crooks to SL.... and then it became known that 2.7 billion is spread over 10 years.
The Chinese left no fish around the seas near them. The fishermen in Madagascar who used to catch more than 100 kg of fish long ago, which became reduced reduced to about 50 kg a day till recently now catch 2 kg of fish, not enough to feed their families.
One EK member wrote here about Norwegian fishing, but it's not only them even the Koreans, Thais and other European boats did fishing.
Now it seems that the Chinese deal is just a mirage....
Note that the Europeans did pay too. The EU paid 6.1 million euros to Madagascar for the 2015-2018 fishing deal, with 2.8 million euros spent on improving fishing policies. An additional 60-70 euros were paid by the boat owners for each tonne of fish caught.
In the Seychelles, the EU paid 15 million euros over the same period, half of which was allocated for supporting the local fishing industry.
There's responsible fishing and dumb Chinese extinction fishing.
