There is a big difference in what he stated in NY USA in UNGA and in Sri Lanka. Specially on environment front. We know what he said to brave government officer who said in destruction of forest "my words are circulars" (people applauded GR not the brave officer.
So in Sri Lanka his practice was 'my way or high way" as opposed to very principled speech which hardly practiced at home !! So what is the use? To fool them? I do not think so.
Already number of mangroves forests that are not Reserved Forests but which absorb C02 in large numbers are under threat or already destroyed as they are Other State Forests(OSF) under 05/2021 circular issued
05/2021 circular on other state forests including mangroves became target of destruction . Even the only wetland in capital city was not spared in the name of development.
Now there is great danger of even microbes being imported from China(already Erwenia was found according to Minister). So are we changing biodiverstiy for ever!!
