iRulu tabs are cheap but proved to be a reliable brand than most Chinese tabs. You can get one under $50 from aliexpress.

You can buy an manufacturer refurbished Samsung tab from eBay for cheap.

There are used tabs in mint condition at eBay; my friend bought down one for about RS.22,000. The same tablet is available at Singer showrooms for RS.54,000.

Most probably you won't get taxed, the parcel will arrive to your doorstep.
If you get taxed somehow it won't be more than Rs. 500 (chinese one)

Regular chinese tabs, though cheaper are easily breakable. I got first hand experience in that. My daughter used the chinese tab I got for her for just 2 days before dropping it and cracking the screen in to two.

If I were you I'd go for a branded tab:

This one is too expensive for an unbranded tab imho. If the Android system gets corrupted finding correct firmware for unbranded tabs is a nightmare. Most unbranded tabs come with Chinese recoveries installed.
