Thanks for trying to help. Just read it again (අනිච්ච සඤ්ඤා සුත්තං). Couldnt find what aniccha means itself there.

The quoted words say (my understanding): this is how the rupa is, and the origin of it and the decease of it.

    Seeing something for example.

Rupa rupa for example arise becos of

    1. a color pattern
    2. eye
    3. mind ( Vinnana) Agree?

So What is Asthangama-(this should not be confused with decaying)non Arising of Rupa??

    either losing 1, color pattern
    2. taking eye away.
3 and most importantly taking mind away.

So the idea in Anicca Sanna is to train your mind to see the Asthangamaya or Nirodhaya. Why you cannot see nirodhaya? becos of Nichcha Sanna, A vipallasa, A distorted view of layman.

Here The learned Shravaka meditate that
    1. There is a pattern a image, a rupa
    ඉති රූපං - රූපය මෙයයි

    2. How it Arise? it Arise when Eye, color pattern and Mind come together.
here the learned shravaka emphasizes that for rupa to arise that "Nimithi" of Mind should apply with 1 and 2. That is why a dead body does not see.
    ඉති රූපස්ස සමුදයෝ - රූපයේ සමුදය මෙයයි

    3. How it non-arise (Nirodha) When one take mind away it non arise. When the "nimithi" of mind does not apply the rupa cease to exist. ඉති රූපස්ස අත්තන්ගමෝ - රූපයේ නිරෝධය මෙයයි (හට නොගැනීම )

    යංකිඤ්චි සමුදය ධම්මං සබ්බං තං නිරෝධ ධම්මං
Anything that arise destined for non-arising

So When learned Shravaka see that Nothing could arise without the "nimithi" of Mind, He also realizes that Rupa cannot "exist" "Situated Firmly" since when nimithi of mind does not apply, Rupa does not exsit.

The minute your mind loses its concentration on Rupa, Rupa is no more!. It cannot situated firmly. it is indeed volatile. This volatility, inability to situated firmly is Anicca.

Therefore Nicca is what our normal perception is, That there is rupa, even when I am looking away. It is indeed a philosophical metaphysical realization, that one must train their mind so that they actually realize the Nirodha.

    1. The rupa is a combination of mahabutha. So how is it "no more" when someone is not looking at it?. Of course he will loose the contact with the rupa, but does it mean the rupa is not there?

    2. How does "this" anicca (volatility manner) lead to dukka and then anatta?

    Thank you!

the rupa we see is not only a combination of maha butha. Its a result of combination of maha butha and the eye. So depending on the eye the rupa would be different .

For example a color blind person , a normal person and a person wearing sun glasses look at same place . Will all three see the same?
And once all of them have looked away which version of the image will be remaining there ?

I suggest you spend some time listening and learning and then come back if you have any questions.
