Stupid people made a fucked up religion out of a hard to understand, but great philosophy and great way of life. Now some even stupid people are making a joke of a made up, fucked up religion. When will you guys end this? This temporary ordainment thing is actually a business venture that started in Thailand to give tourists a unique experience of monk life and experience some oriental mysticism. This somehow made its way to Sri Lanka thanks to business minded monks who saw the benefits. Now they've taken it seriously. I am sure there will be many siba's (sinhala-bauddhayo) claiming that this was part of their culture and 2500 year old heritage in the not too distant future.
All this big joke called buddhism (buddhagama) is destroying pure buddhist philosphy and its values. So called buddhist values today are ironically hangoovers from the victorian colonial era rather than having anything to do with buddhist philosophy or values. What a shame for a great atheistic philosophy that taught us to think and enquire, not follow.
