It will be difficult task to prevent any oil spill but if we can minimize that is what we should do. If it sinks with oil there will not be issue of spill now but will spill slowly when the hull corrode ...
I do not think that we have any equipment to face such a disaster. Even country like US could not do much in Gulf of Mexico disaster of BP oil ship about 10 years ago.
Hope that it will not spill oil ....

Why cant they add one of these around the blast radius of the ship and contain the oil if it happens?
