If you grew up in Sri Lanka your whole life, and now you have settled down in a foreign country, it's a useless exercise to try to be one of them. PR/Naturalization doesn't make you one of them. This is what most people get wrong about integration. Integration is about respecting the rules, regulations, and culture of your new country. It's not about you becoming one of them.

It's not just about the skin color (it is a factor, sure), but it's also about who you are, how & where you grew up. You can't magically change yourself just because of a piece of paper.

The moment you realize you are not one of them, you'll enjoy your life outside SL much better.

Racism is as real as you make it.

i am with you on that machan.. you never going to be them and they will never be you. you dont need to be them you just need to be economically strong as a community and yourself. look at the indians. sometimes you need to be thick skinned and not take racism into yourself. its easy to whine like a pussy but then you cant change the world.
for example i have openly told aussies that its funny the way the speak becuase the mutter words and its very difficult to understand...when they laugh at some of the thing we do. its part of give and take.. till the asians in the world become powerful may be in 2100 like india and china we will be looked down upon. i dont blame them because all they see it shit things about us.
