Sri Lanka's Parliament Building was designed by well-known local architect Geoffrey Bawa. The building is designed in a style of regional modernism. While the building is an example of Modernism, it still respects Sri Lankan vernacular architecture.



Some interesting facts about parliament
- no internal helipads
- no secret tunnels
- surrounded by deep diyawanna lake
- only 2 entrances
- having a large ground infront of the main entrance, where more people can gather and bless politicians
