    In your heart

    Hell NO

Cricket is a funny game, I remember when Aussies got 434 runs South African Chase it quite comfortably (438 with a Run Rate 8.76) not only that in our last indian tour if i am not mistaken india got 414 after their 50 overs, Sri Lanka came very close scored 411 runs but lost by 3 runs to india, mind you in that game also Dilshan scored 160

So yesterday india got 321 in 36.4 over with a run rate of 8.75 per over so one can say if they bat their full 50 overs slot they would have pass 450 mark quite easily. (highest ODI score is 443–9 (50 overs) by Sri Lanka)

    India innings

    • Powerplay 1: Overs 0.1 - 10.0 (Mandatory - 97 runs, 2 wickets)
(India: 100 runs in 11.1 overs (67 balls), Extras 3)
    • Powerplay 2: Overs 27.1 - 32.0 (Bowling side - 58 runs, 1 wicket)
    •Powerplay 3: Overs 32.1 - 36.4 (Batting side) - 73 runs, 0 wickets)

Total Runs Scored in PowerPlays = 228 runs (19.4 Overs with 11.75 run rate)

So others normal 17 overs india scored only 93 runs (5.47)

    Sri Lanka innings
    •Powerplay 1: Overs 0.1 - 10.0 (Mandatory - 41 runs, 0 wicket)
    •Powerplay 2: Overs 15.1 - 20.0 (Bowling side - 22 runs, 0 wicket)
    •Powerplay 3: Overs 32.1 - 37.0 (Batting side - 41 runs, 0 wicket)

Total Runs Scored within the PowerPlay = 104 runs (20 Overs with 5.2 run per over)

Other 30 overs SL has scored 216 runs (7.20 runs per over)

So if Sri lankan were able to manage their normal run rate in their powerplay they would've easily got 360 runs after the 50 overs

Conclusion: So by looking at the above facts & figures we can conclude that Power play overs help Indians to keep their hopes alive while for Sri Lankan it has taken away our hopes for the Final.
