වෙන රටක නම් මේවගේ විශ්වවිද්යාල වැහි වහින එක හොඳයි. ඒත් ඉතින් අපේ රටේ පුද්ගලික විශ්වවිද්යාල වැඩිපුර ආවොත් තියෙන ඒවට යන දසාව ගැන සුබවාදීව හිතන්න අමාරුයි..ඒත් ඉතින් තියන ඒවයින් කෙරෙන සමහර වැඩ (උදා`-සම සෞඛ්ය උපාධිය සහ වෛද්යවරු අතර හබය ) හින්දත් පාලකයො මේවගෙ වැඩ කරල ඒව වහගන්න කතා කරන්න පෙළඹෙන්නෙ..!!

ගමේ ඇහිනුත් බැළුවයි කියමු.. ලංකාවේ විශ්වවිද්යාලෙ යන්නෙ උසස් පෙල කරන අයගෙන් සියයට 22කටත් අඩු ප්රමානයක්. අනිත් 78%ටම මොකද වෙන්නෙ? .. උන් අන්නාත වෙනව නේද? ..හැමෝගෙම ධාරන ශක්තිය එක හා සමාන නෑ. ඒ නිසා හැමෝටම උසස් පෙල ජය ගන්න අමාරුයි.
අනික මෙහෙමත් දෙයක් තියනව සල්ලි තියන එකා ඒ සල්ලි වියදම් කරන්නෙ නැතුව මොනවා කරන්නද. ඔය පෞද්ගලික විශ්වවිද්යාල අරාම්භ කිරීමට විරෝධය දක්වන සහෝදරයොත් විභාගය අසමත් උනා කියමු. නැත්නම් සල්ලි නැති උනා කියමු. ඒ උදවියට මුදල් තිබුනොත් ඔවුන් මේ පෞද්ගලික විශ්වවිද්යාල වලට නොයා වියැයි සිතන්න පුළුවන්ද.. ධනවාදය කියා මෙයට බැන වැදීම හොද නැත. සමාජ වාදයේ නම් මෙසේ ධනවාදී අදහස් ප්රතික්ශේප කරයි. ලංකාවේ ඇත්තේ ධනවාදී ආර්ථික ක්රමයකි. එය සමාජවාදී ක්රමයක් හා මිශ්ර වීමට බැරිය. එසේ වුවහොත් එය පිස්සාගේ පලාමල්ලක් වේ.
සහෝදරයා අපි අදුරෙන් එලියට ආයුතු වේ. ලංකාව හැම දාටම වලේ තබන්නට බෑ. ඔය හන මිටි අදහස් අත හරින්න. සුභවාදීව දකින්න. එවිට අර ඔබ කියනා දුප්පතුන්ට හොද කලක් උදා වේවි. නැතිනම් අපිට හැමදාමත් රැකියා ඉල්ලා කොළඹ දුම් රිය පල ඉදිරිපිට උපවාස කරන්නන් දක්නට ලැබේවි. ලංකාව හැමදාටමත් එකම තැන ඉදීවි. ලෝකය අපිට වඩා ඉදිරියට යාවි.

machan I'm spending Rs.750,000 per year for my engineering degree (Aerospace Engineering) at the moment. And I have to pay that amount to ANC for two years till i transfer to an university in USA. After my transfer I have to pay Rs.3-4 million per year for the university. I got 2Cs and 1S for my Advanced Levels in maths stream in 2009. It is unfair that you all are against starting private universities offering us engineering degrees. And its not easy studying in a private uni. Most of the people think that its just paying money and the uni just passes you gives you the degree. That is bull crap.. It is way tougher than the local universities even, since the university (at least ANC is ) constantly monitored by the affiliated universities in US. I'll tell you about the grading system,just to give you an idea about how tough it is..
93-100% = A
90-92% = A-
87-89% = B+
83-86% = B
80-82% = B-
77-79% = C+
If you get the final mark below 77% your literally screwed; meaning your failed, and you have to repeat the subject again in the next semester.
Education is a right that every man, every child in this country has. And if the government can't provide the necessary services and facilitate it, there's no harm in private sector stepping in. It'll save millions of Dollars that people like me donate to US just to study and eventually help stop the brain drain as well. Don't be a hypocrite and criticize the right to learn of others. know that people who are in the local universities (though they spend more of their time kicking each others butts rather than studying) are there studying, eating, playing, having fun and doing all that; because of the tax paying citizens of sri lanka, be it rich or poor. It's time we shed those narrow minded ideals and step in to 21st Century with a broader mind...

are you going to a public university in US ?
Further more there aren't much universities in Sri Lanka that offer Engineering degrees like Bio medical engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Genetic Engineering etc. So if the private universities open up, they'll be more concentrating on those areas which the local government universities lack. And there'd be competition too, healthy competition probably, between government and the private universities. So that the standards of education'll go higher, better facilities will be supplied etc. and of course even if one gets an engineering degree just by spending money, it is highly doubtful whether any company would hire that person. So as to my opinion, all of these are just illogical theories and crap stories just to demotivate the program and just make sri lanka take another step back.

Going to a public uni in US is gonna be damn hard.. considering the fact that you must have really good SAT scores, top TOEFL scores and a GPA of at least 3.7 - 3.8... So no machan I'm planing to go to a uni called Embry Riddle.. which specializes in Aerospace and Aeronautics!!
