The Buddha was from the Kshatriya Surya Vansa.
බුදුන් වහන්සේ ක්ෂත්රිය සූර්ය වංශයෙන් ය.
Detractors who are intolerant about any community that is different from their own, seem to be unhappy about us talking about our History and Culture. To justify their fake morality the Buddhist quote "one is a Brahmin not by birth but by deed" is thrown at us often and very frequently in recent times. Hence the need for this post with references from the Tripitaka.
තමන්ගේම ජන කණ්ඩායමට අසමාන අන් ප්රජාවන් ගැන අමනාපයෙන් වපර ඇසින් බලන පුද්ගලයන්ට අප, අපගේ ඉතිහාසය සහ සංස්කෘතිය ගැන කතා කිරීම ඉවසිය නොහැකි බව පෙනේ. මතුපිටින් පෙන්වන ව්යාජ සදාචාරයක් සාධාරණීකරණය කිරීම සඳහා ඔවුන් "යමෙකු බ්රාහ්මණයෙකු හෝ වසලයෙකු වන්නේ උපතින් නොව ක්රියාවෙන් ය" යන වසල සූත්ර පාඨය නිමක් නැතුව අප වෙත එල්ල කරයි. මෑතදී ඒවා කරදරකාරී ලෙස වැඩිවී ඇත. ත්රිපිටක සූත්ර මූලාශ්ර සහිත මේ සටහන ඒවාට පිළිතුරක් ලෙසය.

The Buddha has very clearly stated that he was from the Kshatriya Solar Dynasty ( Surya Vansa) and it is in several places of the Buddhist canon, the Tripitaka.

The Buddhas are usually born in the highest caste. The ancient Sri Lankan chronicle, the Pujavaliya categorically states that Buddhas will never be born in the Govi caste as it is a low caste. It is also interesting to note from the 550 past life Jataka stories of the Buddha, that he has never been born in the Govi caste, although born even as various animals. බුදුවරුන් ලෝකයේ පහළ වන්නේ සාමාන්යයෙන් උසස්ම කුලයේය. ලංකාවේ පැරණි මූලාශ්රයක් වන පූජාවලිය සඳහන් කරන්නේ ගොවි කුලය පහත් කුලයක් නිසා බුදුවරුන් ඒ කුලයේ උපදින්නේ නැති බවය. එමෙන්ම බෝසතුන් වහන්සේගේ පෙර උපත් ගැන සඳහන් පන්සිය පනස් ජාතක වල, උන්වහන්සේ සත්ව යෝනිවල පවා ඉපදී තිබුණද ගොවිකුලයේ ඉපදී නැත.
