Countersteering
Countersteering skill is a must and I think you have missed it here.
Normally people think leaning into the bend initiates the turn, but actually it can terribly go wrong. This is a very common misunderstanding I've seen in many Sri Lankan motorcyclists.
I've often heard that people bluff like 'කණේ වැලි ගෑවෙන්න නැව්වා...' or 'දණපොල්කට්ට බිම ගෑවෙන්න නැව්වා..' but actually they don't know what made them survive. When you try to lean into the left, you are unaware that your hands push the handlebar to the right.
As far as I've experienced, countersteering skill helps to re-position the bike within the lane in case of an emergency. Leaning into the turn adds extra stability and is a must in sharp turns.
Cheers!
