I think that we as a nation though intelligent and highly educated always miss the important issue.Polititions exploit this weakness.
The first lesson here is why people behave like this. This is the total breakdown of law and order and lack of respect and belief in the existing law enforcement system including courts.
In law there is a very easy and pragmatic procedure to obtain closure of the factory , but these are either not explored(not known) or even explored they are not implemented by the courts(in weliweriya such order was sought but the case was postponed illegally- under the law such order is mandatory)
Next issue is people take law in to their hands when they loose faith in the administration of law and order. this cannot be suppressed like what they did in weliweriya. Their military was called for peaceful civilian demonstration which killed 3 including children. Has any action being taken against the wrongdoers.
The Human Rights Commission is headed by Dean of the Defense Academy and this is a joke. Even this report is not published or failed to name the responsible people.
What has happened to death inquests . Are there any court actions filed against a single person- three deaths in broad daylight but no action against a single person.
Attorney General's Department is vey lethargic except in politically motivated matters. Already ex CJ is charged for an offence punishable for a fine of Rs500 but murder suspects are scot-free
then the Police. We know they are under lot of pressure and a few who are media savvy is seemingly with the good books with the government. Not necessarily the police officers who are honest and hardworking. So in such a situation when the meritocracy is not considered curry favouring is the order of the day, So is this unfortunate incident.
Now we can understand why the police officer behaved like what is alleged and the tragic circumstances that ended his life.
Under the present system there will be unlimited unskilled police officers who will volunteer to take the dead person's place , in order to please the govt and also for personal gains. So, do not think with the death of one bad egg this will be over.

පහත්ගම/හංවැල්ල/මීපේ(මීපේ-පොලීසියක් නැහැ. පාදුක්ක පොලීසියට තමයි මීපේ අයිති වෙන්නේ)/අතුරුගිරිය/හෝමාගම කියන්නේ බන් police stations. ඔය ඔක්කොම stations අයිති වෙන්නේ Nugegoda Police Division එකට. Police Division එකකට police station 10-15 ක් විතර තියෙනවා. Special Duty එකකට ඔය එක Division එකකින් 50 ගානේ විතර එවන්න කියලයි Message එන්නේ. මගේ අයියා කෙනෙක් ඉන්නවා බන් පොලීසියේ, ඒකයි ඔය විස්තර දන්නේ.
