Not only sri lanka, there are lots of other countries export those things lot cheaper than s/l. In Australia, a kilo of cashew nuts can be purchased for around 13 AUD (around Rs 1350/ ) I don't know how much it's in sri lanka these days, but I am sure it's more than 1350 rupees.

taste is different. sri lankan cashew, banana, pineapple has a different and more sweeter taste. thats why sri lankan products are more expensive. not even india has this taste, its come from the soil and atmosphere. thats why dole and other big companies grow banana and pineapple in sri lanka.
