Earth round or flat
Quran says both.
(i)Earth being layed out like a carpet/spread. It’s true. You look at the earth, with the upper layer crust, it spreads like a carpet for all lives move around.
(ii)In other parts of Quran it says that earth is round and also moving using scientific notations:
[Noble Quran 079:030] He made the earth egg-shaped.
[Noble Quran 015:022] And We send the fecundating (to impregnate or fertilize) winds, then cause the rain to descend from the sky, therewith providing you with water (in abundance), though ye are not the guardians of its stores.
"Thou seest the mountains and thinkest them firmly fixed: but they shall pass away as the clouds pass away: (such is) the artistry of God, who disposes of all things in perfect order: for he is well acquainted with all that ye do. (The Noble Quran, 27:88)"
This verse describes the earths motion, you see there is a verse where it says mountains are attached to earth and in this verse it says mountains move like the clouds do, now if you put it together it creates a rotating earth. that is the artistry of God.
"It is He who created the night and the day, and the sun and the moon, all (the celestial bodies) swim along, each in its orbit with its own motion. (The Noble Quran, 21:33)"
