Erikson ගේ පොත් සෙට් එක නේද? ලඟ තියෙනවා බට් තාම කියවන්න උනේ නෑ. සෙට් එකේ පොත් දහයක්ද කොහෙද තියෙනවනේ.

මාත් ඕක පටන් අරන් අත ඇරියා. Writing style එක ඇල්ලුවේම නෑ. පස්සේ Joe Abercrombieගේ First Law series එක කියෙව්වා. හකු බිම.

 

[Night Rider]

The Bride - (Romance / Historical / Adult)

ස්කොට්ලන්තය සහ එන්ගලන්තය අතර තියෙන සාම ගිවිසුම අනුව ස්කොට්ලන්ත රජුගේ අණින්, කතා නායකයා වෙන ඇලෙක් කින්කේඩ්, ඉන්ග්‍රිසි කාන්තාවක් විවාහ කරගන්න ඕන. ඒ කාන්තාව තමයි ජේමි, කතා නායිකාව. ඇලෙක්ගේ බළකොටුවෙදි ජේමිට අමුතු අමුතු අනතුරු සිද්ධ වෙන්න පටන් ගන්නවා. ඒ එක්කම ජේමිට ආරන්චි වෙනවා ඇලෙක්ගේ පළමු බිරිඳ මරලා දාලා තියෙන්නෙත් ඇලෙක් විසින්මයි කියලා.
කතාවේ සමහර තැන් වල පොඩි cringe ගතියක් දැනුනත් සමස්ථයක් විදියට කතාව හොඳයි. පොඩි mystery, suspense පැත්තකුත් තියෙනවා. මම නම් ලොකුවටම කතාවට ඇදිලා ගියේ, ස්කොට්ලන්තය පසුබිම් කරගෙන ලියල තියෙන නිසාත් ඒ පරිසරය කතාව ඇතුලේ ලස්සනට විස්තර කරල තියෙන නිසයි.

The Time Traveler's Wife - (Romance/Science Fiction/Fantasy/Adult)

මේ පොත ගැන මෙහෙම intro එකක් දෙන්නම්. කතානායකයා වෙන හෙන්රිට, කතානායිකාව වෙන ක්ලෙයා මුලින්ම මුණ ගැහෙනකොට හෙන්රිගේ වයස අවුරුදු තිස් හයයි, ක්ලෙයාට වයස අවුරුදු හයයි. ඊට පස්සේ ඒ දෙන්නා කසාද බඳිනකොට හෙන්රිගේ වයස තිස් එකයි, ක්ලෙයාගෙ වයස විසි තුනයි.

And Then There Were None - (Mystery/Crime/Suspense/Thriller)

රහස් පරීක්ෂක කතා ලෝකයේ අග රැජින විදියට හඳුන්වන ඇගතා ක්‍රිස්ටිගේ හොඳම රහස් පරීක්ෂක කතා වලින් එකක් විදියට සැලකෙන පොතක්.
එන්ගලන්තයේ ඩෙවෝන් වෙරළෙන් ඔබ්බෙන් පිහිටි සොල්දාදු දූපතේ තියෙන මන්දිරයකට, පුද්ගලයන් දහ දෙනෙකුට ආරාධනා ලැබෙනවා සති අන්තය ගත කරන්න එන්න කියලා. ඒ මන්දිරයේ හැම කාමරයකම ළමා කවියක පින්තූරයක් එල්ලලා තියෙනවා ඒ අමුත්තන්ට දකින්න ලැබෙනවා.

මිලේනියම් කතා මාලාවේ පළවෙනි කතාව.
අවුරුදු හතලිහකට කලින් හැරියට් වැන්ගර් කියලා ස්වීඩනයේ ධනවත්ම පවුලක ගැහැණු ළමයෙක් හදිසියේ අතුරුදහන් වෙනවා. ඒ අවුරුදු හතලිහ පුරාම හැරියට්ගේ මාමා, ඇයව හොයන එක අතෑරලා නෑ. ඔහු මේ අතුරුදහන් වීම ගැන හොයන්න පත්තර වාර්ථාකරුවෙක් වෙන මිකාඑල් බ්ලුම්කොවිස්ට්ගේ සේවය ලබා ගන්නවා. ඔහුට සහය දෙන්නේ ලිස්බෙත්.
මම කියවල තියෙන සුපිරිම කතාවක්. අන්තිම පිටුව වෙනකල් පොත පැත්තකින් තියන්න හිතුනේ නෑ.

Sharp Objects - (Mystery/Crime/Suspense/Thriller/Adult)

මානසික රෝහලේ පොඩි කාලයක් ප්‍රතිකාර අරන් එළියට ආපු ගමන්ම අපේ කතා නායිකාව වෙන කැමීල් ප්‍රීකර්ට, ඇගේ සේවාස්ථානයෙන් අළුත් ප්‍රවෘත්තියක් ගැන තොරතුරු වාර්ථා කරන්න කියනවා. ප්‍රවෘත්තිය තමයි ඇය උපන් ගමේම සිද්ධ වෙලා තියෙන කුඩා ගැහැණු ළමයින්ගේ අතුරුදහන් වීමක්. ඉතින් මේ ගැන තොරතුරු හොයන්න කැමීල් යනවා තමන්ගේ උපන් ගමට අවුරුදු ගානකට පස්සේ. මම කියවල තියෙන complex ම characters ඉන්න කතාවක්. ටිකක් විතර disturbing.
Gone Girl කතාව ලියපු Gillian Flynn ගේ debute novel එක තමයි මේ කතාව. මේ පොත adapt කරල HBO miniseries එකක් ආවා 2018 දි විතර. Amy Adams තමයි ප්‍රධාන චරිතය රඟපෑවේ. Amy Adams මගේ favourite ම නිළියක් උනත් අද වෙනකල් මන් ඒ සීරිස් එක බලලා නෑ. ඉතින් හිතා ගන්න පුළුවන් නේද පොතේ එන චරිත කොහොමද කියලා.

I'm at book 9 (most of it on audiobooks) and kinda stopped halfway because I changed my phone.

btw did you stop with gardens of the moon or did you continue to second or third book? on my first go I stopped after about reading 80 or 100 pages and gave up. then after a while I gave it another go and did read through.
I'm at book 9 (most of it on audiobooks) and kinda stopped halfway because I changed my phone.

Stopped at the very beginning of Gardens of the moon. The writing style was a big turn off.

The First Law series is probably the best Grim Dark Fantasy series ever written. You won't be disappointed

To see that instead of a Totalitarianism government, it's social movements like the WOKE culture, Far left-wing feminism, ect. that is coming ever so closer to being the Big Brother & the first to get closer to actually considering thought crimes.. Bet Owell never saw that coming

Stopped at the very beginning of Gardens of the moon. The writing style was a big turn off.

The First Law series is probably the best Grim Dark Fantasy series ever written. You won't be disappointed

Dane සහ Audra කියන්නේ දික්කසාද වෙච්ච දෙන්නෙක්. කතාව පටන් ගන්නකොට ඒ දෙන්නා අවුරුදු ගානකින් හමු වෙලා නෑ. ඒත් හමු නොවීම බැරි හේතුවකට Audra යන්න වෙනවා Dane ලඟට. ඒ හමු වෙන්න හේතු උන කාරණය නිරාකරණය කර ගන්න දෙන්නට ආපහු එකට එන්න වෙනවා. ඒ එන අතරමග, ඒ දෙන්නා ගමන් කරපු ගුවන් යානය අනතුරකට පත් වෙලා හිම සහිත කඳුකර වනාන්තරයකට කඩාගෙන වැටෙනවා. දැන් ඒ පාළු කඳුකර වනාන්තරයේ ඒ දෙන්නට ඉන්නේ ඒ දෙන්නා විතරයි.
