I don't think government salary will be increased. Government employees may be forced to retire with some voluntary retirement scheme. We need to reduce the budget deficit, not increase. If government salary goes up, expect a very hudge tax increase.

Privatisation is the way to go.. Ranil started to do it in 2003 and Mahinda came and gave so many government jobs and ruin the government revenue. Now privatisation is a dream with the current unions belonging to JVP, SLPP, UNP and other parties. No one really wants to get out of this mess..
