That's why we they ask to increase government spending to 6% for education
current is 1.9% .... world average is 5%, india it's 4.1% cuba its 18.7%

You cant compare Russian degrees with ours. If you compare our degrees with international standards Russian is far behind us.(i'm not talking about art degrees). On the otherhand Sri Lanka's cost of living is higher than Russia.

listen I have been staying here more than 18 years.
I enrolled for a private school, so it's obvious I couldn't enroll for a government university.so I had to travel abroad to find an university that I have done Bachelor in Computer Science.
there are thousand of students who have the same fate. don't judge a person without having proper clues.

And one thing .... I do not agree to the comments made to emphasize that private degrees and overseas degrees are not competitive enough ...... They are doing a good job for SL as well, and they did have to earn them.
Dr. House .... please you need to accept that.........

Just asking people to save the education system you studied till the A/L's O/L's(atleast)... although you're not in the same boat with us your children, friends will be. Give us support brothers and sisters.if the spending did not increase it will fail in the near future.

I'm not against putting up private universities (but they need to be controlled pretty well)

You have got the things fundamentally wrong. Since you are a BSc Management holder its easy for me to explain.

This list does not account for cost-of-living savings accrued to local citizens through government-subsidized housing, health care, and education, differences in taxation, and many other factors irrelevant to expatriates.

Any country is moving towards global factory flow as there is a comparative advantage. Chinese production is much more cheaper than Sri Lanka doing its own. Russian technology is cheaper than US technology. That's why we are having a high Marginal Propensity to Consume in our GDP towards Russia and China.

Just have a look at the Sri Lankan Central bank report and analyse the data than just looking at figures. You'll find what's the real situation of the monetary and Fiscal policies.

Not all Chinese products are cheaper than Sri Lankan products dude. I live in China for many months every year and I know about that for certain. In Moscow, a student need about $500 for a normal living (without accommodation). It's much more expensive than SL students' expenses. I did even MBA related to these subject, so I'm sure about the facts I'm talking about. And About central bank reports also I have some knowledge from mother who works there as an assistant director.

Let me tell you one thing.
Usually China produces 2 types of goods, cheap and expensive,
Eg- expensive tvs and cheap tvs
Mostly cheap stuff come to the countries like sri lanka, expensive stuff going to europe, USA and etc. That's why SL people think Chinese products are bad, because they get the cheap ones.
