on the other hand you can get a road named even after you if there are no objections from the house owners of the road. it might be the case with the previous road where it was named after that singer. I remember my grand father was the main force in getting electricity to our village. after that villagers tried to name the road where we live after him and they even got the approval too. but he refused and suggested a common name which is now being used.
