I was under the impression that you are one of the few in elakiri with some sense . But you have proved me wrong.
I take this as a complement :love2:. And yes you are right.
Personally I have waited in the queue several times and never used the pass to get the priority in the queue( though I was once able fo get a full tank exceeding the fuel limit thanks to the pass) But now the queues extend for days not hours. A single fuel browser is inadequate to supply all the vehicles which were in the queue before it arrived. So to get fuel one has to wait more than 24 hours in the queue. Which is impossible for a healthcare worker.I personally live 35km away from the hospital and if take the bus I have to take 3 separate buses and then a threewheel . About two months back I had to take the bus because my car had to be repaired after an accident and then it took me 3hrs . It would be much longer now. And in the night when I finish my shift around 9pm there wont be any buses in 2 of those routes. And if I use a threewheel it would cost 3000+ for a single trip. Of course I can take a leave but then the person who did the previous shift can not leave and he has to do my shift as well which is also impossible.
Of course number 1 reason for doing my job is my livelihood. But according to Adam Smith isn't self-interest, the driving force of the economy?
These are the issues that all ordinary citizens face nowadays. Consider what a normal person would do if he couldn't get gasoline, take public transportation, or hire cabs.

Let's pretend for the time being that healthcare staff are provided gasoline because they save lives. We are on the verge of a famine.
Would you expect that since you work in healthcare, you be given preferential access to rice?

All I'm saying is that you shouldn't beg for more benefits from folks who are already suffering.

Instead take the fight to the politicians who created this problem.

    1)Its a compliment.
    2) Its not about the comfort of healthcare workers its about maintaining continuous healthcare. Most of the workers if they have some difficulty reporting to duty can take leave (even though there will be a financial loss to the worker/institute) . But to release the healthcare worker who did the previous shift ,next worker should come and take over the patients. Otherwise the previous one cant leave. Needless to say after heavy night duty(especially in an ETU or ICU) a person cant continue to work effectively for long hours after a sleepless night.
    3) Already answered above . HCW's right to live does not take priority over someone else right to live. But the need for proper transport facilities for HCW takes priority over many other transport-related issues.

I am not begging for a luxury. Its a necessity to maintain the quality of healthcare. I am not talking only about doctors. I am speaking on behalf of all the healthcare workers. Common folk should also understand the importance of maintaining the quality of healthcare
