For guys...i think it is a must.....

but for girls...its cruelty and abuse....

at any rate.....it must be done by a medically approved doctor using localized anesthetics...not some old man or woman to have fun mutilating....

No - even for males its not a must!
it has its own advantages as well as disadvantages
So unless otherwise medically indicated ( for males)- it should not be done -
"heightened sexual experience, less chance of getting sexually transmitted diseases" are all baseless (wrong) beliefs!

non of these rituals are taken place under hygienic conditions at all- sp in African and even many Muslim countries- even Sri Lanka, in many remote villages, male circumcisions are done under dirty conditions by non medical people!
It is believed that the origin of HIV virus is due to female genital mutilation rituals using unhygienic conditions along with blood contaminated from some native monkey animals in Africa!
