Restaurants,Food city outlets,Laksala,Bakery,Shops, Petrols sheds within the Canowin Arcade opened for the convenience of travelers
Even though the Southern Express Highway was an excellent answer to time consuming journey of travelers to the Southand beyond, there weren’t any place to fulfill other basic needs such as a restaurant, petrol shed or any other shops. However last week, a shopping complex called “Canowin Arcade” was opened by the President in order to fulfill all these needs of the travellers which is in par with those found in Highways found in developed countries. It includes two Food Cities, Gihan’s restaurant, shops to purchace clothes, Lak Sala, Dynamor restaurant Gills Café and an Italian Cafe. It is also reported that a branch of “New Monis” bakery too has been established within,which is a branch of the famous
‘New Monis’ bakery along Galle road in Maggona.
It is located close to the Welipenna entrance by construction additonal lanes for vehilces to enter and depart very conveniently.The cost of he complex had been around Rs 400 million.
It is reported that a friendly environment has been created where people could rest by been able to answer a call of nature and play grounds for the children too have been built with a petrol shed which is considered to be very important. ‘Canowin Arcade’ has been built in such a way with 6 entrances to the highway from Welipenna.
This complex opened by the President which has been build together with more modifications to the Kottawa main entrace adding five entrances to the Kottawa entry point.
