I bought the 5 knife set from them machan. but that set doesn't have the knife that you've posted in your post
seems like it has a taper that interferes with the cutting
I've been primarily using the chef knife for most of my cutting though
it also has a thick spine but it's not a hassle at all to use. it holds an edge for a long time and cuts without any problems

Yeah I can't find that knife model on their website either. Maybe they discontinued that model ( model - k4).
These are seems to be great

It could be an isolated case with that particular knife model.

yup. think that may be the case. the knives they have for sale on their site doesn't have their logo stamped on their knives anymore
instead I think they're laser etched or something now
btw I think you'd be able to improve that knife by grinding away the excess if you have access to a bench grinder
that should improve the edge but it's going to involve some work

They also tried to sharpen it to reduce excess thickness but best they can do isn't enough.
It is heavy and well made durable knife. Ironically the only thing it cant do is cut vegetables
