After watching the Prez talking about the 'Haal mafia':
The private rice mills have superior technology, the govt warehouses are decades behind in terms of technology. Hence the private companies have efficient purchasing mechanisms with higher buying rates.
To compete with these companies the govt will have to,
1. Invest in improving their infrastructure including logistics.
2. Outcompete the companies by offering higher buying rates to the farmers.
3. Outcompete the companies in the market with lower selling rates.
So the govt will have to pump in capital, then buy, dehusk and then sell with thin margins or even at a loss.
Now whose going to bear this? Especially, at a time the govt coffers are tight on budget and running on loans. These jokers with their heads deep in some socialist utopian fantasy, never heard how markets behave in real world dragging this country yet again to a crisis.
