No what I meant was are the studios in some kind of agreement with SAG or a similar body in order to incentivize for pronounced diversity casting. Like something directly influencing the studios to do so.

There’s a woke phenomena in the entertainment industry, I do not contest it. The decisions that shape mainstream entertainment have roots that are economic in nature (this always has been the case). None of this is secret.
My confusion is not so much with people criticizing PC tendencies (which is warranted) as it is with the simplistic form in which these criticisms come in. You claim there’s unhealthy diversity casting right now, you see a black actor, you scream. What is the logical step here? Can’t black actors act anymore? Shouldn’t they appear in movies above a certain threshold?
I specifically use
black instead of
minority because black people have always been a part of the history of Hollywood and un many genres. Them appearing should not be outrageous an event generally.
