In simpler words, what I said is it may not be useful to you but might be useful for other people. So it isn’t something that can be removed from the world just because you don’t like it.

Based on the way you measure things, if mobile computing is considered to be something that didn’t get improvements at all in the last decade, then we can say that personal computers are even worse because we still have a cpu, monitor, keyboard and mouse which we had in 90s also.

Also one more important thing. I have seen a lot of Sri Lankan’s always complaining about how other people spend their money. I don’t think it is something under your control and never should be either. 😁😁😁

This not a thing to see with a narrow minded ideas like "Sri Lankans bla bla bla". We spend more Billions of dollars for a year for mobile phones. Just to invent gimmicks. This is not about how people spend their money. This is about how corporations spend their money. They are focusing on profits. Not about the future or technological advancements. In our current world, the Majority of expenses are for marketing and manipulate consumer minds. They make things we don't want and manipulate to make us want it. That is how corporatocracy works

Typical Sri Lankan’s bla bla bla is always trying to tell others how to spend their own money. No one is coming to get your approval on how they spend their hard earned money.

People like you who are always nagging about how others spend their own money thinks that someday you can impose restrictions on people’s money spending habits and drive the balance to your pocket. That will never work and I’d suggest spending that time on improving your financial situation instead.

Dude! Which part of it you don’t understand that the billions of money you talk about is not a welfare fund, but instead someone else’s money? There are owners for those and you just cannot come up with ways to spend them.

You think way too narrow minded. You need to get some sense about how the economics works.

End of the day, With all these debates, I don't see any possibility in near future to have a replacement to the fossil fuel energy, colonized mars, or flying cars because this mobile phone bullshit has slowed down the development of the civilization in general. All precious manpower is wasted on marketing gimmicks. What if all of us rejected gimmicks?. At least they will come up with real innovations other than gimmicks. I would like to buy a multifunctional gadget that has holograms, projections, and all other functions on a mobile phone (most importantly, long-living battery), etc. But as long as people buy the same old shit, they will give us the same old shit.

Ok. Replacement for fossil fuels will come up when people demands it. People demands it when the fossil fuel runs low, the price goes up and “people” find it hard to afford anymore. If you are the only person who finds it hard to afford, then it’s maybe still too early for alternative energy inventions but instead you might need to acquire some industrial skills and work on improving your monthly income. In other words, the problem maybe within yourself but not with the world.

We cannot just jump into the level of mars colonization. But all of this may slowly contribute towards it. Like I said, in my first reply, ever increasing demand for computation power on mobile devices pushes battery technologies forward and the same time processors to be more efficient. These technological improvements can then be used on other types of areas too. Similarly, F1 fans are indirectly contributing towards improvements on efficiency of gasoline engines, which then gets applied on consumer vehicle. This has happened over the time. Even big wars also had positive impact on technological improvement. It’s not just one thing. The world moves as a unit with everything interconnected in it. Finally, all this happens based on people’s demands and needs. An individual cannot just decide where we should go next.

Wars had a big impact. But in today's system, few persons are deciding which path the world needs to go. The big issue is here. We are controller by a few persons. <1% of the population. No obvious solution for this. And you are talking too much about income.
