US Gun culture is going to stay long, similar to Slavery even they considered all men are equal in Constitution.
At least some background checks and restrictions on ammo needs to be implemented but this will not stop such incidents. People consider that right to a gun is a constitutional right. Country is too big to provide security for everybody and their culture is also different.
Even policing have lot of issues specially relating to disadvantaged groups such coloured people and poor whites and drug addits. etc
No president will touch this issue as he is sure to loose or get killed like many others , who tried to change US Eg JFK, Robert K, MalcomX, Martin Luther K,.... and many more.
