Twenty-four-year-old Cassie Trevis, who was brought up in Lemsford Village, has featured on Sri Lankan television, as she is the first foreigner to obtain a licence to drive a tuk-tuk, as the vehicles are known.
Tuk-tuks throng the streets of many Asian cities, but are nearly always driven by men, so a young blonde woman at the wheel of a brand new one turns plenty of heads in Colombo.
Her mother Lyn told the Welwyn Hatfield Times: “The programme received an exceptionally high number of callers – probably mostly men.”
