(Lanka-e-News, Dec.20, 2009, 7.00 PM) UNP Organizer for Attanagala ,Harshana Rajakaruna had complained that 3 election Offices of the UNF at Nittambuwa and Thihariya were attacked by a group that came in vehicles without number plates.
Rajakaruna said, the Nittambuwa Police refused to accept the complaint and this attack was launched by a govt. sponsored political group of thugs.
Rajakaruna also pointed out that President’s huge cutouts are being erected before the Police in flagrant violation of the elections without any hindrance.
When JVP Provincial Council members and their members were engaged in putting up posters of Gen. Fonseka at Alawala, Attanagalla, they were assaulted by a group of PA hooligans. Three JVP MPs and 7others had been hospitalized following this attack. Three of them are critical, according to Hospital sources
