ඈතම් අයට ඈතිවන ප්රශ්ණයක් තමයි 32bit (x86) සහ 64bit (x64) මෙහෙයුම් පද්ධති ( operating systems ) පිළිබදව. බොහෝමයක් මෙහෙයුම් පද්ධති 32bit සහ 64bit යන සන්ස්කරණ නිපදවා ඈත.
උදාහරණ ලෙස :- Windows Xp , Windows Vista , Windows 7 , Ubuntu , Fedora ....... ආදිය දෑක්විය හෑකිය. ( windows 8 නම් 32bit, 64bit සහ 128 bit යන සන්ස්කරණ වලින් පෑමිනෙනු ඈත.)

ඔබ භාවිතා කරනු ලබන්නේ පෑරණි Computer එකක් නම් ( dual core වලින් පහල Processors සහිතComputer) ඔබගේ පරිඝනකයට දෑමිය යුතු වන්නේ 32bit මෙහෙයුම් පද්ධති පමණි. ඔබ dual core හෝ ඊට ප්රබල Processors සහිත නම් (for Intel : core2 duo, quard core, Core i3, i5, i7 for AMD : AMD Athlon™ X2 Dual-Core Processors, AMD Athlon™ II Processors, AMD Phenom™ Processors, AMD Phenom™ II Processors ) නිතෑතින්ම ඔබගේ පරිඝනකයට 64 bit සන්ස්කරණයක් සහිත මෙහෙයුම් පද්ධතියක් ස්ථාපනය කලහෑකිය.
32 bit මෙහෙයුම් පද්දති වලට වඩා 64 bit මෙහෙයුම් පද්දති වඩා කාර්යක්ශම වේ. නමුත් 32 bit වලට වඩා 64 bit වලට වෑයවන මතක ප්රමාණය (Ram ) වෑඩිය. එබෑවින් අවම වශයෙන් 2GB හෝ ඊට වෑඩි ram ප්රමනයක් අවශය වේ. ඊට අමතරව Hard disk එකේ ප්රමාණයද 32bit වලට වඩා අවශ්ය වේ.
පරිඝනකයට 64bit සන්ස්කරණයක් සහිත මෙහෙයුම් පද්ධතියක් ( operating system ) Install කිරීමට සුදුසු දෑයි පරික්ෂාකිරීම .
Method 1: Easy Method!
Go to Start -> Right click on Computer -> Click Properties. Click on Windows Experience Index.
Now click on View and Print detailed performance and system information.
Here you will be able to see the current system type, number of processor core and if it is 64-bit capable. Note: If you are already running 64-bit processor, it will show in the current system type and you will not see if it is 64-bit capable or not.

Download CPUZ: ftp://ftp.cpuid.com/cpu-z/cpu-z_1.57.1-setup-en.exe
CPUZ is a small utility which gives all information about your CPU (Processor), Cache, Mainboard, Memory, SPD etc.
Under Instructions from CPU tab, if you see EM64T (if its Intel) or AMD64 (if its AMD) then your processor is 64-bit capable.
මෙම රූපයේ රතු පාටින් කොටුකර ඈති කොටසේ අවසාන කොටසේ ඈති Intel Processors නම් EM64T ලෙසින්ද AMD Processors නම් AMD64 ලෙසද දිස්වේ නම් ඔබගේ පරිඝනකයට 64bit edition( සන්ස්කරණයක් ) සහිත operating system එකක් Install කලහෑකිය.
