HD is spreading around the world but many countries don't have HD

most of the shows are HD ones, so watching them on SD is totally useless. so these high resolution TVs are useless in here as well

There is no 720p resolution on Bluerays or HDTV streams. only 1080p/1080i
720p is a downscaled of 1080p which only using TV cappers, pirate Encoders & H.264 iTunes HD cuz of the size issues

blue ray player when playing the disc (1080p) downscales to 720P for the TV

yah they are good for watching movies stream by DVD/BD players. If you put 1080i HDTV stream on 720p LCD you may see black bars / chopped images cuz of downscaling!
