there is no point buying a 8500 unless u really want DX10....a 7600GS 512MB will give you much better performance at less cost......its around 9k...so why spend extra on a 8500 which will give you less performance......at some games there is a big gap between those 2 cards....7600GS wins 90% of the game benchmarks.......

I say go for 7600GS 512(+caches from the ram as well)

Since the 8600 GT barely beats the 7600GT, it's hard to imagine the crippled 8500 GT being a decent performer.
