    ඇයි දැන් එන හැම හාඩ් ඩිස්ක් එකක් වගේම 5400 rpm එකෙන් එන්නේ?

    ඉස්සර 7200 rpm ඒවා ආව.

The performance of the hard disk is not just the RPM. You have to compare the data throughput - how many Gb/sec
The areal density of a HDD depends on two factors The BPi (bits per inch) & TPI (tracks per inch)
When areal density increases the data throughput increases because the R/W heads is able to read more data bits.
If two drives have the same areal density but have two different speeds 5400rpm & 7200rpm - then the 7200 rpm drive is 33% faster.
With a SSHD, a solid state hybrid drive there's totally different picture.SSHD's keep the frequently requested data on the NAND flash area. So the speed of an hybrid drive is irrelevant. Also newer hybrid drive with 5400rpm outperforms the older hybrid drives of 7200 rpm by a big margin.
So do not decide on a drive considering it's RPM.;)
