No, this trick won't work...How on earth are you ever going to explain in terms of chemistry and physics so important a biological phenomenon as first love?
Albert Einstein

I droped the idea. He knows better. Can you do that? Is science so lame? What is the use of science in real life?

Stop being so philosophical girl....

Be like a sweet girl  :P
Why do you think I am a girl?. I don't Say I'm not, but curious. And Einstein was not a phylosopher.

The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and all science. He to whom this emotion is a stranger, who can no longer pause to wonder and stand rapt in awe, is as good as dead: his eyes are closed. -Einstein

We still don’t have a complete idea on how our brain works. That is why we can’t explain love in terms of science. But everything that goes inside our head is nothing but a bunch of electro chemical reactions. Maybe one day in the future when we fully understand our brain, we will be able to explain it with science.

What is the use in real life? Wake up !! Everything you see around you is there because of science, computers, vehicles, electricity and even the cloths you wear are a direct result of science and technology.

Agreed. That bunch of electro chemical reactions rules us and lead us or mislead us. The bunch of electro chemical reactions which happens in a tyrants head can destroy a nations hapiness making them poorer day by day.

That's what I meant as real life. But how much we lose as humans because of machines. I have seen a shop owner using a calculater to deduct 4 Rupees from a 100, for a photo copy. We pay a lot for them as human beings. Has humanity as a whole become improved because of them or become more violant, more stupid and insensitive? Larger thefts, more violant murders, more sicknesses... Negativity much more than before Science entered.

That belongs to Einstein.

Ok, so what is your point ? What does that has to do with first love or science?

I don’t think that is a fair example. Most store keepers use calculators out of habit. And, just maybe that shop owner wouldn't have been a shop owner if it wasn’t for that calculator.. Not all of us are equality smart, not all of us are good at math...But because of technology (calculators) now even someone who is not good at math can run a business, did you ever think of that ??

NO I completely disagree. In the medieval ages people were killing each other for no apparent reason, there were wars, crusades, invasions and all sorts of violence. Not to mention the numerous plagues and other diseases that took millions of human lives. Compared to those days, modern society is much more civilized, and due to advancements in medicine, our helth and life expectancy has gone up tremendously.

I can’t remember exactly where I read it, but there was a study done on how violence and crime rates changed over the years, and their findings reveled that violence (killings) has gone down drastically over the years.

If science could analyze it could have found a cure for anger, violence, hatred, greed and other destructive emotions.

A one who can't calculate is incompetent in business. He may be a culprit to be successful. Habituated man is an animal as I see them. They are not sensitive or passionate, or compassionate. He earn money but he lose himself. He can't buy himself with that money or more.

But at what cost? As a whole humanity has lost the ability to love. Are you loved enough by your parents. Do they love you as yourself or do they love for the one who believe you to be.

But in wars millions get killed instantly because of science. In Dutugemunu's time they fought in North and the rest of the country enjoyed peace. But in the war we know, whole country boiled with anger and hatred and did it serve any purpose. Technology made it possible.
Technological progress is like an axe in the hands of a pathological (uncontrolled -unreasonable) criminal.___Albert Einstein

Actually, there are medications already for controlling some of the destructive human emotions; anti-anxiety and anti-depression medicines are to name a few. But these are not meant for everyone, and there are side effects. But things may change over time as medicine and our understanding of the human body evolves. Who knows, maybe one day scientists will come up with a drug to control selective human emotions...

Ok then, what about love? That is an emotion too, and sometimes it can drive a person to take irrational decisions or even commit harmful acts. So don’t you think love should also be controlled?

And If we are to suppress all our emotions then what is the point of living? I think human emotions (how bad they might be) are what makes us human, without them we are no better than a bunch of intelligent machines.

With help of computers we now can do things that we couldn't even dream of doing 100 years ago. Because of it our living standards have improved a lot. Calculator is nothing but a simple computer, so if you argue that a person who can’t do math without using an external device like a calculator shouldn’t be allowed to run a business, then apply the same argument to modern architectures and engineers, they are no better without their computers! Maybe our mental mathematical skills have gone down slightly due to the use of technology, so what? If we still can do 100 times more work than a person who lived 100 years ago, then I don’t see a problem in that.

And I don’t understand how using technology is linked with the sensitiveness of a person. Weren't there greedy, selfish, evil, people before? A greedy person will always be greedy with or without technology.

I don’t think we have lost our ability to love. Maybe we are busy with our work, studies, and whatever we do to get by, than those who lived before us. But don’t you think world is a better place to live now, than before? With science, people now have a better understanding of the world, they have more respect for one another; and I believe that, as a whole the society we live in is much advanced and civilized than that of our ancestors.

I think love and happiness is cherished more now that it did before. People value freedom, fairness and happiness; they free to follow their heart's desire. And we are not bound by old backward thinking anymore.

I agree that advancements in military technology has brought more fear in to the world. But still I think far less people die in modern warfare than it did in the ancient times. New developments in military technology is aimed at minimizing unnecessary casualties.

The evil we see around us is not the fault of technology nor science; the fault is with the human psyche. Remember guns don’t kill people, people kill people.

So at the end, What is the alternative ?? we stop going forward because technology can be used for evil as well as good? Is that the answer ??

I let Einstein reply this...
***The release of atom power has changed everything except our way of thinking...the solution to this problem lies in the heart of mankind. If only I had known, I should have become a watchmaker.
