If science could analyze it could have found a cure for anger, violence, hatred, greed and other destructive emotions.
Actually, there are medications already for controlling some of the destructive human emotions; anti-anxiety and anti-depression medicines are to name a few. But these are not meant for everyone, and there are side effects. But things may change over time as medicine and our understanding of the human body evolves. Who knows, maybe one day scientists will come up with a drug to control selective human emotions...
Ok then, what about love? That is an emotion too, and sometimes it can drive a person to take irrational decisions or even commit harmful acts. So don’t you think love should also be controlled?
And If we are to suppress all our emotions then what is the point of living? I think human emotions (how bad they might be) are what makes us human, without them we are no better than a bunch of intelligent machines.

A one who can't calculate is incompetent in business. He may be a culprit to be successful. Habituated man is an animal as I see them. They are not sensitive or passionate, or compassionate. He earn money but he lose himself. He can't buy himself with that money or more.
With help of computers we now can do things that we couldn't even dream of doing 100 years ago. Because of it our living standards have improved a lot. Calculator is nothing but a simple computer, so if you argue that a person who can’t do math without using an external device like a calculator shouldn’t be allowed to run a business, then apply the same argument to modern architectures and engineers, they are no better without their computers! Maybe our mental mathematical skills have gone down slightly due to the use of technology, so what? If we still can do 100 times more work than a person who lived 100 years ago, then I don’t see a problem in that.
And I don’t understand how using technology is linked with the sensitiveness of a person. Weren't there greedy, selfish, evil, people before? A greedy person will always be greedy with or without technology.

But at what cost? As a whole humanity has lost the ability to love. Are you loved enough by your parents. Do they love you as yourself or do they love for the one who believe you to be.
I don’t think we have lost our ability to love. Maybe we are busy with our work, studies, and whatever we do to get by, than those who lived before us. But don’t you think world is a better place to live now, than before? With science, people now have a better understanding of the world, they have more respect for one another; and I believe that, as a whole the society we live in is much advanced and civilized than that of our ancestors.
I think love and happiness is cherished more now that it did before. People value freedom, fairness and happiness; they free to follow their heart's desire. And we are not bound by old backward thinking anymore.

But in wars millions get killed instantly because of science. In Dutugemunu's time they fought in North and the rest of the country enjoyed peace. But in the war we know, whole country boiled with anger and hatred and did it serve any purpose. Technology made it possible.
Technological progress is like an axe in the hands of a pathological (uncontrolled -unreasonable) criminal.___Albert Einstein
I agree that advancements in military technology has brought more fear in to the world. But still I think far less people die in modern warfare than it did in the ancient times. New developments in military technology is aimed at minimizing unnecessary casualties.
The evil we see around us is not the fault of technology nor science; the fault is with the human psyche. Remember guns don’t kill people, people kill people.
So at the end, What is the alternative ?? we stop going forward because technology can be used for evil as well as good? Is that the answer ??
